Meet our Staff
Marty Thorne - Owner/lead habitat manager
Marty is a life long hunter, fisher, trapper, and outdoor enthusiast. He has his Bachelor's degree in Natural Resources from the University of Minnesota where he graduated with honors. He has also earned his National Deer Association Deer Steward 1 certificate for Whitetail Deer Management. He has been managing 5 of his own properties in Northern Minnesota for over 10 years. Each property consistently has more and bigger deer compared to neighboring properties. Now his clients are experiencing the same results!
Greg Thorne - Nuisance trapper
Greg is a life long hunter, fisher, trapper, and outdoor enthusiast. He has been hunting and fishing for over 50 years, and trapping for almost as long. Greg has also been a private landowner for over 20 years, where he has managed his property for hunting a variety of animal species. Greg has also played a key role in both the recruitment and retention of sportsmen and women. From over 40 years ago, Greg began introducing at risk youth to the sport of fishing. That eventually led to introducing other people, both youth and adults, to everything the outdoors has to offer.
Andy Haken/K9 Ruby - Game Recovery Tracking Team
Andy is a lifelong outdoors enthusiast who has been hunting with dogs since childhood. This lifetime of hunting with dogs led him to pursue this next chapter in his hunting career, K9 game recovery! Minnesota first legalized the use of dogs to recover big game animal sin 2019. Andy began his research to get involved in this facet of hunting and eventually teamed up with K9 Ruby. They started their tracking career together in the fall of 2024 and their success rate speaks for itself!
